JASON AULA FOR SIGNAL HILL CITY COUNCIL
A message from Jason R. Aula Candidate for Signal Hill City Councilmember:
VOTE JASON R. AULA FOR SIGNAL HILL CITY COUNCIL MEMBER
I am running to be your Signal Hill City Councilmember. I am a proud Long Beach State University alumnus where I campaigned hard to bring back the university football team and was a member of rugby team. I pledge to create jobs, increase the city tax base, and a business-friendly Signal Hill.
Political Views: I believe in Small Government, Free Enterprise and Individual Liberty. My political beliefs are guided by the United States Constitution.
Education: Benjamin Franklin said, “an investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” I agree with Benjamin Franklin’s words and believe that funding education is important. I qualified Measure F in Signal Hill which allocates a 2.5% tax towards Signal Hill education. I believe our schools need more money to update technology and hire more teachers.
Public Safety: I support the Signal Hill Police Department and believe they play an integral role in protecting human life and property. I qualified Measure F in Signal Hill, this measure allocates a 2.5% tax towards the Signal Hill Police Department. Law Enforcement could use the revenue to update training, buy equipment or add positions to make streets safer.
Jobs: In November 2016, California Voters approved legal marijuana. I recently introduced a measure titled the Signal Hill Jobs Initiative. The Jobs Initiative ends the moratorium on cannabis facilities within Signal Hill. Ending the moratorium would create hundreds of temporary and permanent jobs.
Labor: I recently introduced a measure titled the Signal Hill Jobs Initiative. The initiative includes a labor peace agreement requirement section. I support Labor Unions and protecting workers’ rights. I am against Labor Unions Political Action Committees (PAC) playing partisan politics and exclusively supporting left leaning candidates.
Environment: I look forward to ushering in solar and wind power for Signal Hill residents. I believe in protecting our water for future generations.
Technology: I am interested in bringing fiber optic internet to Signal Hill.
Health: The government should protect the health of its constituency. Sugary drinks have been linked to causing obesity and diabetes among children and adults. Therefore, I am proposing an initiative that taxes sugary drinks to fund recreational programs in Signal Hill for youth and adults. In addition, the tax revenue would expand and maintain our parks and trails.
